History

In 1976 Theodore Becker was pursuing a Ph.D. in human performance at Indiana University, studying under Dr. John Cooper and Dr. James Counsilman. Those educational years included biomechanical analysis of normal populations, challenged populations, and elite athletes.

In the early 1980s, Dr. Becker was a faculty member at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas. While at the Center, he contributed to spine research with the orthopedic department, consulted with professional baseball athletic training staffs, and served as head trainer to the United States Swimming Olympic Teams.

Dr. Becker is recognized by the medical and legal professions as a leading expert on hard-data performance testing and capacity evaluation

By the mid 1980s his primary focus was the development and implementation of capacity evaluation testing for both personal injury and work cases at his business, Everett Pacific Industrial Rehabilitation, EPI Rehab. A specialization of the EPI capacity test was the inclusion of biomechanical analysis using a critical segment performance technique, HDP® Hard Data Protocol. HDP® was and is an objective quantification to the process of capacity testing in North America. Over time, the biomechanical analysis component of HDP® at EPI Rehab created considerable customer loyalty resulting in growing demand to apply that knowledge and expertise to both surveillance video and vocational job analysis.

As the demand for the HDP® biomechanical process increased, Dr. Becker established BEC Biomechanical® as a separate company to better serve his clients.

Today, Dr. Becker is recognized by the medical and legal professions as a leading expert on hard-data performance testing and capacity evaluation. His unique combination of specializations (including a Ph.D. in Human Performance and certifications in rehabilitation, disability analysis, and sports medicine) supports the fact-based analysis of surveillance video to provide information that holds up in court.

Dr. Becker has been found to be qualified by knowledge, skill, experience, training and education to provide credible testimony in the form of expert opinion. His analyses have been used in the positive resolution of more than one hundred court cases/administrative hearings.
